The Team Pain wood crew has done it again! Royal Oak Michigan is now home to one of the best wooden bowls on the east coast. The 4,000 sq. ft. bowl is layered in Finland Birch, and ranges from 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 feet deep. The Roll In on the bowl is not typically found on wood based construction, and is more likely to be found in a concrete bowl. The roll in also serves as a hip, opening up a lot of possibilites. The Bowl also features an escalated hip, a perfect taco corner right next to the roll in, and a love seat style hip that you can grind over.

We get letters / emails on a regular basis thanking us for our hard work. Here is an email that we got from a happy mother in Jacksonville Florida, regarding the new Ed Austin Skate Park. "I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your teams’ hard work and efforts in on order to give the up and coming kids a great place to skate. The skate park is open and both of my kids and my grown kid(boyfriend) love it. It’s even better that its shaded to some degree. I am a proud mother who would rather have her kid be skating at different parks around Florida then to be unaccounted for. It’s people like “TEAM PAIN” who do things to keep our children focused, off the streets and out of trouble. I thank each of your members on the crew who make this happen for my family. Thanks for replying and be blessed in all you do. Sincerely, Another happy mother."

The always creative crew over at Volcom came through with another good theme for another successful Surf Expo. This year Volcom's theme was a Reptilian motif which included green bikini chicks with lizard tails, guys with pink pants and scaly green lizard shirts, and green banners and stickers surrounded the ramp. We made a pretty big change to this years ramp by adding a big hip right in the middle of the ramp. Coping was placed behind the hip creating a gap that you could grind over, which was definetly a challenge for the skaters. Opposite from the hip was an elbow shaped curve. Zero's Keegan Sauder claimed first place for the AM's on Friday, and Ivan Rivado took first place in the Pro event on Saturday. Ivan took home $10,000 dollars and Mike Peterson came in second taking home $7,500! See everyone next SURF EXPO!
